Ladakh Festival >>> 1st to 8th September2012
Ladakh is showcasing its rich culture and traditions; the much awaited ‘Ladakh Festival 2012’ will yet again mesmerize the audience on its peculiar land. This year, in addition to the cultural programmes/music concerts, Thanka Exhibitions/Photo Exhibitions, Mask Dance, Archery and Polo, in compilations to the calendar of festival, the main attraction of the festival will be the Photographic Exhibition at Leh Palace organized by National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) in collaboration with LAHDC, Leh, showcasing the ancient photo collections of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya.
Besides, a Seminar on the theme “Museums and Changing Cultural Landscape” will also be organized by Departments of Museology and Conservation National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation, in collaboration with LAHDC, Leh at Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, (CIBS), Leh from 2nd September, 2012.
A yoga/meditation program will also be a part of the festival organized at Mahabodhi Meditation Centre to cater to the seekers of spirituality! (for more information see my other post on this blog)
The music concert which is one of the many attractions of the festival will be held at the new ‘Open Theater’ at Sindhu Sanskriti Ti-suru instead of Sindhu Ghat, unlike the previous years.
The festival which stretches for 15 days is scheduled for duration of eight days this year ensuring better arrangements and programmes.So what are you waiting for, experience this event and the richness of Ladakh,Ladakh is calling!
